Elynar has always been one of my go-to sources when in need of advice, whether it relates to my professional or personal life. She listens attentively and is really engaged during our conversations. I value her input because she is not one to tell me what I WANT to hear but instead what I NEED to hear in order to really grow and succeed. I've been through several ups and downs and she has always been there to support and cheer me on in all my endeavors. She's helped me prepare for job interviews and helped me build content for my personal website. If you're looking for someone to help you be the best version of yourself, Elynar is the right person to turn to.

Elynar helped me so much while I was pursuing a Master’s degree in Geology. She helped me navigate the school’s bureaucracy when I had to take a semester off for health reasons. She was able to advise me on who to direct my requests to, and what I needed to convey in order to not get penalized for taking time off. She also helped me polish my master’s thesis and held me accountable to meet deadlines.

Working with Elynar as my mentor changed the direction of my life. I felt lost, overworked and stressed all the time. She encouraged me to meditate daily and it transformed my life. I started to become confident in my voice and the choices I make. She guided me in every step of the way and provided resources to help me on my path now. I went from being lost to starting my own sound healing practice! Never would I have thought I’d be helping others through sound healing meditation. Elynar helps uncover who you truly are.

Thank you Dr. Moreno, thank you for all you have done for me, I learned so much from you in sociology and human services, you also gave me confidence my first semester back in school, it had been 20 years wasn't very confident, didn't know how I would do being out of school for so long but you made the transition very smooth by talking to other students I can say you are LOVED. We love your teaching methods/style you always keepin it real with us, sharing resources, and letting us know you have our backs.

You have been a pleasure... Amazing... patient... loving... understanding... resilient... with us every step of the way. If I could stay in school forever I would...Just solely for the escape. School has changed my mentality, my life, my perspective, gave me hope, reassurance, confidence, A CHANGE AND A CHANCE! And I thought I wasn’t going to make it! I DID! I DID IT! And I’m going to keep going! I promise! I won’t stop! Thank you thank you thank you for seeing my potential and being so understanding and patient with me.

I just want to tell you Thank You for all that you taught me in your class. You gave me the knowledge to be able today to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology. All the things you said was true about undergraduate school, rough but don't turn back. Once again Thank You. I know we are facing rough times but with teachers like you we can overcome anything.

I got accepted the MSW program at CSUDH. :D
I got an e-mail earlier this afternoon and read it as soon as I was able to at work. I was in tears of joy!
Thank you because you were an important role in this process and will continue to be in my career. Also, thank you for being a role model to students like myself everyday. I look forward to being one as well in the future.

I miss being in your class! I think about it quite often and how it really prepared me for my papers and presentations here are CSULB. I am grateful I now know APA format from the top of my head!
You're a great teacher, Dr. Moreno. I will keep in touch! Thank you for everything.

Because of Professor Moreno I have learned how to step out of my comfort zones and now I have some really great friends and I look forward to coming to school and taking classes with them. LASC is helping me grow into a better woman so I can provide a better life for me and my 12-year-old son. I hope one day he follows my footsteps by going to college and meeting people that will change his life for the better.

I just started my last semester of the MSW program at CSULB. While my journey has been rough, at times because of AS, it has been a beautiful experience. I thank you for all your advice and encouragement along the way. The lessons learned were invaluable and I am forever grateful for having you as a professor and mentor.
